I thought this would increase the transmission and reception range of my Baofeng HT. Build quality sucks. The o-ring fell off immediately when I took it out of the box. And also the rubber cap fell off the top. BUT THE WORST thing is that it doesn't even work as an antenna! No reception, no transmission PERIOD. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting reception from a local repeater only 3 miles away. I was able to set it up on my Kenwood HT. I thought maybe the Baofeng radio is not working properly and I would have to return it. On a whim, I took an ultra-cheap rubber ducky antenna out of the box and replaced it with my HT. PERFECT reception and good transmission. FROM THE CHEAP ANTENNA that came with Baofeng radio. I threw this antenna in the trash. A complete waste of money. The only thing it was good for was keeping my cats away from the dining table. Complete garbage. AVOID!
