UPDATE 06/08/20: Still 5 stars after 11 months! Now I mainly use it for drawing well water and not for irrigating lake water. I dropped 22 feet of 3/4 inch PVC down a 24 foot deep well, put the pump next to the well and I get 70 pounds of pressure at the outlet and 75 pounds at the end of the 50 foot pipe. Hose. Not the strength of a fire hose, but enough to run a variety of sprinklers and keep my irrigation water bill at $0! After almost a year still very satisfied. First Review: Have a Wayne PLS100 to pump lake water to irrigate our Bermuda and Zoysia herbs. Did too much research and fortunately decided on Wayne and quite a few cheaper models from other manufacturers. I'm not saying cheap models are bad, but Wayne is freaking cool! I used a 1" brass bottom valve (TC2503LF) on the inlet hose (6ft of 1" reinforced clear hose from Home Depot) and I raced. Filled the pump according to the manual, plugged it in, flipped the switch, and in about 25 seconds the oscillating sprinkler at the end of the hose was throwing a 50-foot-wide jet of seawater 75 feet, 10 feet above the inlet. And the splashes were almost the same as a homemade bib. Then I turned it off, added another 75 foot hose and ran it out into the yard. Turned it back on and almost immediately it threw out about the same amount of spray as the Backyard but 22 feet and 150 feet from the air intake. And did I mention it's relatively quiet? outside of it. Now if it were next to a residential area it would make sense to build an insulated, ventilated box for it. I am impressed? Yes. So I decided to try my luck and put a splitter on the 75 foot point and add the same oscillating sprinklers on each 25 foot hose at each end. At this point you may see some reduction in water strength, but still enough for watering. In my opinion the pressure was about 20% less. I moved the coupler, hoses and sprinklers to the yard (150 feet from pump to coupler with a 22 foot elevation above the lake). Again, you may have seen less spray from the sprinklers. With both sprinklers in series, the total coverage was approximately 50 feet by 25 feet. Although not as good as on the same 75ft hose, the 1200 sq ft is big. feet will do. Update: I replaced the 1" inlet hose with a 30ft 3/4" hose to bring the pump closer to the power source. There is no noticeable loss of water pressure at 150 feet, and I know that because I brought a pressure gauge to check. That's 78 psi straight out of the pump, 76 psi at 75 feet and 63 psi at 150 feet (22 feet above suction lift). All in all, the Wayne PLS100 is a VERY impressive irrigation pump that should pay for itself by significantly reducing my water bills during the South Carolina summer watering months! worth your money.
