Great value, few compromises

Here's what you're missing out on for the price: no built-in sound system, slower pixels smearing the dark parts of the screen. The lack of sound is a big bummer for me, but honestly I always wear headphones and at this price point I'd rather have no sound than a tinny bassless aftermarket sound system. This is the biggest compromise this monitor has and depending on what you need it can be a deal breaker. However, the aforementioned blurriness is only noticeable if you actively look for it. However, it exists. Compared to the Apple Retina Display, this monitor clearly exceeds its weight class. The basic settings are a bit washed out, with a red tint, but excellent black tones. It's hard to convey if you don't mind tweaking the options. Tweaking the settings brings out the true potential of this monitor and it's a bit overwhelming that they ship it knowing their base settings aren't as good as usual. All in all I highly recommend this monitor until someone else decides it's time to compete for that prize. PS This is also my first curved monitor and I never thought I would have to experience something as simple as a monitor.
