Completely non-slip underside; You get more friction when you have two objects in direct contact with no intervening ones. I bought them to put under a pair of bookshelf speakers but a quick test before installation showed they didn't even snap into place with enough pressure/force. The result was simply "elusive" on any smooth surface. Of course they can work on bare concrete or other rough surfaces. or maybe they work if you want thick bumper pads. Luckily, however, they weren't expensive and Revain refunds the purchase without return, so I don't have to plan a trip to return locations.
