I bought a couple of these mugs because I drink coffee slowly and my coffee often gets cold before I've finished my drink. They came, I washed them, soaked them in soda, rinsed and dried them. With a standard Kurig coffee maker set to 192 degrees and the largest cup selected. I measured the cooling time of a full cup of coffee several times. After 40-45 minutes it started to cool down noticeably and after 60 minutes it became room temperature. I did the same thing with a standard 15 ounce ceramic mug. My standard 15 ounce coffee mug started cooling after 20 minutes, by 30 it was room temperature. So this mug gives me an extra 20-25 minutes of hot coffee. A heavy, thick ceramic, the Dowan mug is warm to the touch when full. Has a comfortable grip. The lid has a larger drinking hole, which I like. The cork bottom can be removed for manual cleaning. I prefer a ceramic mug over an insulated steel mug. I don't like the taste of stainless steel. However, a steel-insulated cup will keep the coffee hotter for longer. I don't use these mugs in my car, they are better for home use.
