If you're just starting out in making homemade French Press coffee, this is a good snack for less than $14. The glass is thinner than some French presses I've seen and after a month I really thought I would break it but I didn't. I have been hand washing every day for over a month now and have never had an accident. Most French presses will give you the same taste as they are all very similar in design. The differences are mainly in the design of the carafe, the easy disassembly for cleaning and the longevity of the components. As mentioned, the glass is a little flimsy, but it's very easy to take apart for cleaning. If you're new to this method, expect to add another 10 minutes to your coffee brewing and cleaning process. With the French press method, you need to pay attention to the temperature of the water and how long you leave the coffee grounds in the drink. Water that is too long or too hot can make your coffee very bitter. I found it bittersweet to leave a second cup of coffee in the carafe while I drank the first cup. If you're a regular French press drinker, you might want to look into a press with a heavier glass. Plus, it's good press if the price is right.
