These cycling shorts are designed to be worn under regular shorts as they look like underwear. I've worn them with them on 3 bike rides so far and found them quite comfortable. The padding feels like cheap foam, but offers a surprising amount of comfort. I'm not sure how long they will last before breaking. In terms of fit, I have a smaller build and don't have big hips, but these shorts are still quite snug on my hips, so you should definitely consider that and go up a size. I like that they have sticky material on the bottom to keep them in place. I mainly use them for mountain biking, but for road cycling I use shorts that can be worn like regular shorts. Overall I'm happy with these shorts, cheap enough to have spare pairs.
