My child can't walk or stand yet, so I can't tell if you can walk in it all day. They have a protector on the bottom but I wouldn't send my child to play in them. My little girl has very small feet and these were a bit big for her. They are very cute and I wore them on her a lot because they were soft and made her feel special. She pointed at her and laughed and smiled as I put her on her feet. She never messes with them so they are very comfortable. They also don't leave any marks on chubby feet like many other children's shoes.
