One of the best electric sharpeners for artists! Many of the reviews seem to revolve around user preferences, space, and security. This sharpener is ideal for those who need sharp pencil points that are effective and don't break. Most floral artists will want this, as you typically need fine points for precision and layering of color. This means you apply light pressure as you color, which through the thin tips helps me train myself even more! ADVANTAGES: - Fast and easy VERTICAL SHARPENING, reducing the risk of breakage (compared to horizontal sharpeners) Chips are broken into pieces to maximize storage capacity - AUTO-STOP function to notify you when sharpening is complete - The size of the device is definitely bigger (like a manual coffee grinder) but completely manageable for the features it has - SOUND of the device isn't much louder than any other electric sharpener I've come across - Hard, SHARP/ CLEAR TIPS (used with #2, Prismacolor, Watercolor pencils, Granite, Drafting) for fine detail - STURDY/DURABLE BASE you don't have to hold with other hand while sharpening CONS: No complaints or issues for me personally. If you personally don't need any of the above features, this will make the difference.
