Doesn't get hotter than 150

To be honest I was very frustrated when I was looking for a dehydrator that is food safe when cooking beef jerky. It says it should go up to 167 and I've already used it 3 times on fruit and veg and it never got to the temp. I am considering returning it but it is so large that it would be difficult to return.
