Review on πŸ’» TRENDnet TEW-651BR Wireless N Home Router in Piano Black - 150Mbps GREENnet Technology by Scott Rao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A normal router at a normal price.

Conclusion: A good router at a reasonable price. It works best on one floor in a small house. Update the firmware after receiving it. I ordered this sight unseen just hoping it would work well with my AT&T DSL at home. He does and does. The attitude is good. The setup wizard guides you through most of the important setup steps required. One big step missing from the Assistant is security. I was expecting the wizard to give me the option to set up WEP or WPA or something similar. You can set up your router for these things, but not with a wizard. The form factor is good. It's quite small and being black it can be hidden in the shade if needed. :) The range isn't what I was hoping for, but I think that's to be expected given the size of the device and a small antenna. Coverage is good on the same floor but weak on the basement. I also had a problem with the router, which only routed via the WLAN. When I connected my laptop with an ethernet cable, I was able to control the router, but there was no wireless connection. I would have to restart the device to get it working again. Before calling tech support, I checked the line for a firmware update. was alone I downloaded and installed this and it seems to have solved this problem.
