Review on Enhance Network Connectivity with StarTech.com 1 Port PCI 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Card (ST1000BT32) by Ron Thomas

Before purchasing and installing this product, I had many problems connecting to the Internet. There were a number of latency and packet loss issues that my ISP was unable to resolve after numerous calls to tech support and technicians visiting my home. One of those techs mentioned that my built-in LAN controller might be the problem, so I decided to take a chance and buy this extra card to offer an alternative cable modem connection. The problem seems to have been solved well as I haven't had any problems since installing it. The installation was easy for someone with at least a basic knowledge of desktop building and I was able to complete it during my lunch break. The product was immediately recognized by Windows 7 without the need to install drivers and started working within minutes. Overall I am satisfied with the result and this product. I would recommend to anyone looking to add additional LAN connections to their desktop and for those looking for multiple connections (for server applications at home or in a small office) multiport versions of the product are available.
