We like traction as it allows our dog to walk and walk on firm snow or climb snowy hills. She really likes boots because her feet don't get cold and she loves to play in the snow. The elevation is good as it allows walking through deeper snow. She's a tiny toy poodle, only 5.5 pounds, and her small legs and feet are no good for our cold winters. These boots help her go to the bathroom while still exploring and enjoying the snow. She likes her boots very much. We don't like velcro as it wears out in less than a year of winter use. To fix this we sewed on the buttons and they work great. Doesn't fly off your feet even when running in the snow and climbing. We bought a second pair as the first one broke into pieces of faux leather. They'll work for a while, but she puts them on every time she goes out. I would definitely recommend them and the delivery has been great both times. She fit between size 2 and 3 with her but we chose 2 and they fit her perfectly.
