When I first plugged it in, it didn't recognize my monitor. I've restarted several times with no success. I thought it wouldn't work with my computer. I went to Best Buy and spoke to a gentleman who gave me something to review. I also bought the adapter they sell for $30! Plugged it in and couldn't see the monitor. Again I restarted the computer a couple of times. Vain. It only worked after turning the computer off and on again. Also, if there is no sound on your monitor, you need to go into the settings and change the sound to "speakers/headphones". (Thanks to the gentleman at Best Buy for this tip!) I sent the adapter back to Best Buy because it worked. Please note that no instructions are included with this adapter. Hope this helps someone!
