Very easy! for lamp sockets

This is a lamp socket, not rocket surgery. I felt confident enough to try plugging it into the power cord. Got the cable from the lamp. Have a screwdriver. Twisted the wires. I wrapped the wires around the screw (who knew?). screw turned. Got the lamp back. Allowed. Turned the handle. SNAFU! The fuse has blown. Understanding that, I thought that this time I would connect one wire to the head of one screw and the other to the head of another screw. I re-did everything, now it seems to be working.
