Arrived quickly, works great.

Ordered this fixture to replace a broken porcelain fixture in a 3-strip floor lamp with an antique magnate base (shown). The new socket arrived in 3 days in excellent condition, with all the necessary fasteners for assembly. Works great.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

The switch is very difficult to turn to turn the light on and off.

I repaired a friend's antique lantern by replacing the cartridge. I had to use the metal screw mount from the old outlet because the new one was too long and I still had to lengthen the hole for the switch to keep the handle from rubbing. The on/off switch is very difficult to turn on and off, so I might have to reconsider changing the outlet because it has a switch, or find another way to turn the lamp on and off.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors are here

Very easy! for lamp sockets

This is a lamp socket, not rocket surgery. I felt confident enough to try plugging it into the power cord. Got the cable from the lamp. Have a screwdriver. Twisted the wires. I wrapped the wires around the screw (who knew?). screw turned. Got the lamp back. Allowed. Turned the handle. SNAFU! The fuse has blown. Understanding that, I thought that this time I would connect one wire to the head of one screw and the other to the head of another screw. I re-did everything, now it seems to be…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn
