Definitely no more childish average on the big side
My son (6 years old) usually wears a medium size and he is a bit tall, but this medium size is larger or larger for him. We loved the design and it's a lightweight hoodie, not bulky so absolutely perfect! To be honest, it was his favorite Christmas present.
