Review on KNIPEX 72 01 140 Diagonal by Ryan Moran

UPDATE: There really is something to be said for Revains' excellent customer service. As soon as I contacted them they sent me new pliers free of charge. As it would be too hassle for me to send things back, wait for them to arrive and then receive another one. I really appreciate this service and it raised my rating to 4 stars. The second pair has no flaws of the first. Not sure if anyone accidentally slipped past QC. OLD REVIEW: I just got this in the mail and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Not sure if I have factory seconds or not. I paid $34 for shipping to New Zealand and the shipping time was ok. Approximately 2 weeks. However, the quality of the instrument leaves much to be desired. First, I have an odd mottled finish on the flush edge. I would have thought they were sanded smooth, but no. Secondly. One side is actually shorter than the other. There is a slight bend at the end of a cutting tip that causes the tips to be misaligned. The packaging was in good condition and much larger than the pliers so this did not happen upon delivery. Last but not least, the flat cutting edges do not touch. The middle part is actually curved outwards. The bottom and top of the blades touch, but there is a gap in the middle. I have other Knipex tools and even after years of use they don't show the lack of quality that this pair has. I figured I was better off paying the price I paid and no less from Revain as a seller (Sold by: Revain Export Sales LLC).
