Update 4 months later: After some use (air conditioner repair and other home projects), the soft surface is very well preserved. Even the initial worry of wiping the trim around the buttons didn't materialize! First Rating: I do too many things around the house without taking off my watch. On older, cheaper, not fancy but good watches, I've broken my share of watch crystals and scratched the edges or finish. Now that I have my first expensive smartphone, these Tauri cases are designed to prevent scratches and paintwork. my usual usage. It is very easy to install (wipe with the provided alcohol wipe, wipe with the provided soft lint-free cloth, use the provided dust/lint removal sticker and attach the case). I expected some decrease in touch sensitivity, nothing changed at all. In fact, I like that the case rounds off the rounded edges, making it easier to touch the dials. The finish is soft matte black, gummed but not rubbery, velvety soft but not velvety. This is not TPU. It is hard plastic with a pleasant to the touch coating. There were concerns that the surface might be damaged or scratched, but an incident occurred shortly after installation and the case surface was not damaged. There is still a chance that chafed, bald spots will remain with normal use. But it comes with 2 cases. And at this price, it's worth it if it needs to be replaced. One thing to note is that the case makes the round knob a little less noticeable when gripping and turning. The button is flush with the housing and protects it. The problem is that the bottom button is longer - it's recessed and a little harder to press. I expect the casing around this button will wear out over time.
