This is a medium weight sweatshirt; This is great for spring or fall or for layering. It's not as thick and heavy as a winter sweatshirt. I have found that there is room for growth in adidas children's clothing and this sweatshirt is no exception. You can probably make a few seasons out of it because it has a little wiggle room. I think the design and fading is very cool for both kids and adults. The fabric feels soft and is sewn well. The material is pleasant to the touch, tolerates washing well. The seams feel secure. As it's a branded product it might be a bit more expensive than a regular hoodie but I think it would make a great gift and your kid will love it.
