Not enough power to power rack servers

I work in IT and like many others I have a lab. I have several 1U rack servers, NAS etc. I ended up moving everything to a proper rack to remove the racks I was using. I bought it because it was a rack mount surge protector. Now it fits my storage rack perfectly, so anyone who says it doesn't fit theirs shouldn't have a storage rack. I don't know what's going on there. What I like about this power supply is the front panel switches that turn off the power without having to unplug it. I would like to see a built in way of labeling instead of printing something out or using a label printer to label the switches. The first thing I plugged into this unit was one of my HP Proliant servers that require redundant power supplies (PS) to power up. I connected the server and the indicators showed that the second PS was not working properly. I used all open sockets and same problem. I noticed that no matter what combination of plugs I used, in order of PS one or two, the second power supply would give a warning light. As soon as I connected a cable to the UPS, it was gone. Apparently this rack power supply can't supply enough power for a rack server. Standard surge protector for $8. The solution for me was simple, and I was going to do it anyway: move a PS to the UPS so the server doesn't go down in case of a crash. It seems to support router, modem, second switch and other small devices. It seems like a ridiculous power strip that can't power what it appears to be made for.
