Review on Haisstronica HS-8327 Ratchet Crimping Tool for Heat Shrink Connectors: AWG 22-10 Wire Terminal Crimper by Todd Cowdrey

Not suitable for small terminals

Heisstronica has a 5.1mm wide full tooth (very good for most terminals). The Heisstronica tool did a really good job on the BLUE size compression. I cut the terminal in half and it looks like solid metal. It did a great job with any isolated terminal of this size. But with the RED heatshrink fitting, which was a high quality fitting, it worked well and would not work with any other RED sized insulated fitting. I understand it's for heat shrink tubing only, but I expected the compression part to fit any insulated connector, or at least a vinyl connector. That didn't happen. The wires simply fall out of the terminal after crimping. I think the closed size of the RED tooth helped. It has exactly the same gap as the BLUE tooth (2.2mm). For example, the Klein tool has a good progression of 2.0mm - 2.5mm - 3.0mm. Heisstronica has a sequence of 2.2mm - 2.2mm - 2.8mm (why same gap for RED and BLUE?). BTW when I tried the 20 gauge wire in the BLUE (PVC) connector in the BLUE tooth (just for testing) it shrunk nicely. From my observations, the tool did not provide high-quality results for all sizes. I think it's a design flow. The Heisstronica tool should have a 2.0mm hole for the RED size, not 2.2. That's why I can't recommend it. Tools designed for different sizes, but not just one. A picture shows under a compressed RED-Size terminal where the wire is about to fall out. The second photo shows a nicely crimped BLUE size connector.
