Overall we like these shoes for my daughter to go to school but we had a few issues with them. They are durable and comfortable enough. I ordered a size smaller than my daughter's usual size following the size chart, but they were still a bit big. But I'd rather they be too big for growth than too small! My daughter had blisters on her heels walking barefoot in them so we bought some pillows and taped them to her back and now we just wear socks with them. Also, I didn't really think about how stiff the buckle would be. It's difficult even for me, let alone the 5 year old. In the end I cut off the buckle and attached velcro. things to consider!
