Although much better and much cheaper than a similar fully opaque black case I bought locally which became brittle and broke after a few months of careful use. twice. I gave it a star because about 3 months later it clicked on the power button after sliding off my bed onto the carpet. I too have been very gentle with this iPad. The features I really like about it: The back is translucent, skips the Apple logo, adds minimal bulk, the magnets on the lid keep it securely closed to the iPad, and the kickstand works as promised. However, so far none of the leather cases I had for my original iPad 2 have come close, which lasted for years and still looked great after a few drops on hard surfaces. Unfortunately this is no longer available.
