This hair chalk had a terrible effect on my daughter's hair. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with her curly hair but as soon as I did the first strand I felt her hair getting rough like her hair hadn't been washed in days/weeks. I ended up regretting not stopping after the first strand. When I finished, I couldn't even comb her hair. Her comb brushed some of the chalk off, but her hair was in such bad shape that I couldn't tie it in a ponytail. Her hair got tangled and it took us 4 washes to get it out of her hair. FYI, use lots of conditioner and brush as you go. On the plus side, it rinses off your hands easily and washes your hair completely if you take your time.
