We bought a window unit for our cats to go down in the basement a few years ago and over the years the door lock has broken and the door got stuck when open and was no longer protected from the weather. It was so easy to use as a replacement, just unscrew the old door which is identical in size to this one, insert the new one and screw on. The new lock feels a little tighter and harder to turn than the old one, but it works well. The window unit itself is holding up well, but we added some weatherproof foam around the edges because it gets cold. Overall we had a great experience with the Pet Safe cat flap!
