Firstly I have had this gauge for 6 years now. However, it sits in the glove box of my car and is only used in emergencies as I keep several of these in the garage when I usually service my tires. I bought it thinking it would be more or less a lifetime (10-15 years anyway) caliber, especially considering the light usage. When I first got it (based on the positive reviews) I agreed with most of the reviews that it felt like a quality instrument: fairly heavy, worked well, and felt reputable. But just today I used it on my bike which requires twisting my arms to get it into the rim to the valve and the tip of the cartridge just fell off for lack of a better description. I was able to put it back on and at the same time found that only the O-ring holds it on the stem. No proper press fit, no threads, nothing but a fairly tight fit. After putting it back on, it came loose again; So the gauge is basically toast. Seems like a bad way to design a shank to chuck fit. The gauge part still seems to work fine if I can get the cartridge to stay on the stem.
