I have naturally blonde hair that has darkened with age and have children. This is a great way to add highlights. This takes some practice, but I figured out how to add multi-dimensional highlights by just lightening small groups of strands at different times. For example, in one session I will highlight a small group of strands as the main color. Then, at the next session in a week or two, I can take a few strands and just partially reapply them to make them even lighter. However, please follow the instructions and cut a few test hairs from under the hair and at the back of the head. Tape them to secure, mark them and make a note of how long it takes. Every hair is different! Don't be an IDIOT and think you could raise your whole head with long brown or black hair just with this box! It just won't happen, and if you complain, it means you didn't follow the instructions. I absolutely love this product and now that I'm learning how to make it myself I'll never have to go to a bleach salon to see if they can do what I want ever again. Instead, I'll just do what I want.
