Every weekend I kayak with my son in both saltwater (ocean) and freshwater (lakes). Since then he has enjoyed being in and around the water and has renewed his interest in learning to swim. Part of getting this camera is to encourage him to be even more interested in the water: - to see what fish are under our board and to get his interest in fishing - the sea, streams and Exploring Lakes - Information about the water and the ecosystem. He serves the above purposes well as he likes to point out to me what he sees on cam while I'm paddling. Using it is simple: connect the camera to the display unit and switch on the device. If you don't see anything (like me), make sure the connector is fully inserted. It took some force to snap into place and boom, the camera worked. The camera itself can be oriented downwards or horizontally with the included clamp. However, the display unit is not waterproof. So I put it in a waterproof bag in case my son accidentally drops it in the water or we roll over in the fall. A microSD card was included for storing photos and videos.
