I bought this cable because it said it was compatible with a MacBook Pro. I just tried to connect my new Macbook to a USB-C monitor with this cable and it didn't work. The signal was not displayed. I tried another USB-C cable and it worked fine. I suspect the cable might work for connecting other devices, but it's definitely not suitable for connecting a monitor.
