What a great monitor in every way. And yes, the display is exactly what I expected, but I'm amazed at how well the stand itself was designed. The stand is an industrial designer's dream. The mount attaches firmly to the base with a single screw under the stand, which has a fold-down handle so you can securely hand-tighten, which I did. Side-to-side rotation of the monitor is made possible by the base itself, with the arm attached to a round plate that fits snugly against the surrounding square base, with little or no spacing between them. Rubberized feet on the bottom of the stand prevent scratches on the table. The arm itself is tilted back slightly, which puts the monitor's center of gravity over the base, so a small base like this is fine (9.5in wide x 7in deep). The arm has a vertical slot that allows the monitor panel to slide up and down. The minimum screen height from the table, measured at the bottom of the screen, is 2 inches and the maximum height is 7 inches. When rotated to an extremely tall portrait orientation, the same minimum size is 3/8 inch (base height) and maximum size is 2 inch and 5/8 inch. Oh! And that sliding plate attaches to the back of the monitor without tools: it pivots in with a loud click, and there's a button to release it (though you'd have to twist it back). Everything on the back of the monitor is flush and great, including the circular insert in the monitor platter that pivots the monitor vertically and accurately mirrors the rotating mechanism at the base. Everything feels solid and looks great. I'm afraid of every gathering. , and fully expected that I would attach the plate to the monitor with four screws in its VESA mount and then play around with the extra quantity of screws to attach the mount to the base. But it wasn't! Without reading the instructions, I assembled it in less than 5 minutes. Amazing work Dell. Increase the salary of your designers.
