On Sony and Philips TVs with an OLED matrix from LG, there is also no such mass problem. Incl. be sure to check your TV not only for dead pixels but also for banding (turn on the YouTube video "banding test 5 gray" in a dark room). If you find a TV with a blank screen, then it will be a great purchase. It's a shame to ski - for such money to release so many marriages to the masses.
