bad tolerances: parts and components

I buy and ride "cheap" parts all the time. I'm not a famous brand snob. But when are the parts so cheap that they don't fit together properly? nope This stem is designed to fit a 31.8 handlebar. If you scrape the paint off the inside of the clamp it will likely fit. But with applied paint? nope There's a reason this thing is cheap. It's junk and I burned myself buying it.
