I bought this indoor fountain pump. I needed to increase the water flow rate so I read the good reviews and wanted a quiet pump with good performance. The water flow is good, but the pump makes a slight humming noise that I definitely notice. Maybe he would be less noticeable in an aquarium. But in a quiet place and near a small fountain, you can hear a small constant hum that does not seem to die down after the "break-in". It gets the job done, durable, small and works as advertised. Suction cups ensure a secure hold. I'm giving it four stars as it will probably give the most satisfaction as it's quieter than the pump I replaced and has reliably good flow. Maybe I'm looking for an incredibly quiet pump. I know there are silent DC pumps, but they are more complicated and expensive than a simple AC pump. So, good performance, good flow as described, fairly quiet but still a little buzz in my well. I have to add that. is a solid steel fountain and the pump transmits vibrations through the base. I isolated the base from the table but I still hear the noise.
