Good canary seed is hard to find in stores these days. Even the pet store has done away with it by switching to finch/canary stuff which my canaries don't like. Specially designed for canaries, this product will be devoured with greed. Yes, they're quite puffy, but I've come to the conclusion that this behavior is typical of many birds. So when I clean her cage, I put the tray under the feeder in the backyard. There the wild birds are having fun and tinkering with popping the seed out of the cup that my messed up tweets popped out of. PS - I also try not to feed my canaries only seeds. If anything, it's more like the fruit and veggie bread they get every day. Alternating apples / zucchini / oranges / romaine lettuce / broccoli / etc. Good quality seeds. I'm on my second pack of this stuff. Definitely recommended!
