It's almost three stops dimmer (that's almost ⅛ the brightness, or another 8 times brighter) than either of the two I've compared against, BUT again, with diffusion already built in, assuming you're going to diffuse other lights you've been up to now Not. However, it's just not that bright for the brightness of the bare bulb. If you're looking for a small light source that you can put close to your subject and get a nice soft light, then go for it.
