I deduct a star. My premonitions about the glue were correct. Despite the ugly part of the clip, if you look at it the wrong way, things go wrong. Adjusting the position of the light source itself is a dubious endeavor. Will he stay or will he fall behind? Worst of all, despite the many brightness levels, none are dim enough to help illuminate the webcam subject. Fur. Original Review: I'm not an engineer but I don't like the attachment mechanism and don't understand its design. More specifically, a huge piece of fabric hanging from the back of my monitor and attached with glue. It looks silly, feels cheap and I'm not sure I can move it around my large monitor without losing the benefit (whatever it is) of the adhesive. The cord jumps right over it. As for the counterweight, I doubt something that big was needed to make the LED bulb itself very light. The LEDs seem to be good, I really appreciate being able to have a softer light and the lamp can be made very bright. . I love that I can adjust the angle of the lamp, although the back of anything makes me wary of ever touching the thing, which partially defeats its purpose. The instructions are reasonably clear, but the manufacturer could have hired an interpreter. All in all a good idea, reasonably well executed.
