I liked this led strip although I wish it was brighter. I have an old fluorescent light bulb and I was planning on stripping the guts out of it and putting these LEDs in their place. The plan was to swap out the light in the ceiling and then be able to change the colors of the light with my phone. However, they would not be bright enough to replace the light in the ceiling. I can still stick it in an old fluorescent bulb, but it's only for mood or accent lighting. Also, I want to buy an LED strip where the LEDs are further apart. These LEDs are spaced less than half an inch apart and if I wanted to cover a large area I would have to cut them and solder 3 wires between each LED. It's not the fault of the LED strip. It's my fault for not considering the distance. What I mean to say is that before ordering a programmable LED strip, you determine how much spacing you want to get. Despite all that, these things are a lot of fun to play with. The ability to control the color of each LED individually is amazing. I would recommend these LEDs if you are sure you like the distance and they are bright enough for you. I have a covered porch and would like to buy another panel, longer and with more clearance. It would be great to place them all over the porch so they change colors or put on shows for different holidays.
