Review on Ziggurat Dryer Duct Connector STV-90V2, Snap πŸ”Œ to Vent 90 Degree Elbow for Laundry Dryers by Tyler Born

Friction fit slips off - not suitable for all dryers

I liked the design for this on the website and with it installed now the 'fingers' seem like a good idea to keep the hose in place . There are a couple of issues though: 1) I have a new GE Energy Start dryer that works fine, but the friction fit side of the duct doesn't slide perfectly into the dryer and falls off with little effort. I put a 2x4 behind it to hold it up and I'm just hoping the dryer doesn't move, bump or fall too much. I suppose if it gets worse I'll have to glue it in place but that defeats the purpose of this device (at least for me) as I hope it allows for easy maintenance and cleaning of the duct. regularly. 2) The second problem is that the vent on the dryer is a bit recessed and the dryer protrudes a bit at the back. So unless I want to run the duct sideways and then up (which means I have to push out the wall to make room for the duct), I have to put something behind the dryer to hold the duct fitting in place . So the finger side is well thought out, but the friction side needs a little more work. I bought two of these and will try the other one on an old dryer we have - maybe it will work better.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Having trouble
