I bought 2 of these about a week apart. I've had them for 3 months now. 1 has stopped spinning and the other is still connected. They operate very quietly but I would recommend covering the armrest with tape - if the tiniest bit of epoxy gets on the stick the arm will get stuck and stop rotating. Although masking tape will help smooth it out. I've been making mugs for 1.5 years now and prior to these purchases I made my own spatulas. The bottom line is that if you don't use it on a daily basis, you'll probably last more than 3 months. Great for beginners and hobbyists, mostly because of the cost (overall cost is less than the skewers I've used on my homebuilt motors). I like the one that still works - the foam is perfect. I cut them in half to get twice as many holders. The foam can also be cut to fit different cup sizes and styles. Super Level - never had a single lump or bubble. Happy turn!
