I didn't take any pictures of the cable before installing it, but surprisingly it's a black cable. This xlr will appeal to many. This thing is surprisingly thick (thicker than a Mohamis) but in a good way. It has less EMF dropout than its more expensive counterparts, but that's pretty much negligible unless you're working with the cord draped across different power supplies. This cable makes no noise that would require pin removal, so it's automatically a step above the base Revain cable. The true difference in quality is over $10, and for anything under $50 I would definitely recommend this cable.
