Review on Akebono EUR1546 Ultra Premium Brake Pad Set: Elite Performance in Sleek Grey by Darius Glatzel

I bought these for the front brake of the 2015 Audi A8. They fit perfectly like OE. I have used Akebono pads on various BMWs we have owned over the years. These are high quality pads with the same braking power as the original pads but with much less brake dust and very gentle on the brake disc. Every BMW and Audi owner knows how notorious original brake pads are when it comes to brake dust. With Akebono pads I can wash my wheels for weeks without a bad conscience because the brake dust is almost invisible. When brake dust is present, it is lighter in color so it is not visible on silver discs. In addition, these pads last forever and are very gentle on the rotors. I have a set of Akebono's on our 60,000+ mile BMW 530 and they aren't even half worn out, plus the rotors are as smooth as day one. Also, I've never had any noise issues with these pads. If it's a compromise then these pads don't have the same initial bite as the original pads. This requires a little more force on the brake pedal overall. Braking power is not a problem. The brake modulation is still fairly linear. So it never bothered me and I got used to it quite easily. All in all, these are the ideal brake pads for daily driving in view of the low dust development, noiselessness and durability. They are highly recommended and I will continue to buy them.
