I have tried another pair of dog shoes in the past which were very difficult to put on. They are really easy to put on and take off my 3 year old boxer boy. I bought them so I wouldn't burn his pads on hot summer days when he goes potty. The sidewalk outside our store gets very hot and dog pads burn easily when the sidewalk hits 125 degrees (that's only 77 degrees outside, folks). We had a border collie who burned the pads of his toes and blistered until we knew the street temperature and its effect on the dog's paws. We definitely didn't want to miss this learning opportunity. These shoes also really help protect their feet when taking them to the potty where you can't see what might be lurking in the tall grass and weeds. I picked up our boxer pot last week and couldn't see there was anything sharp in the weeds until this happened. He was shoeless. To my horror, he sustained a very deep cut on the underside of one of the pillows. There is no suturing or suturing of the wound. Luckily we have his shoes. I could treat him, wrap him up, and then wear him in sneakers all week. This allows us to really keep his wound clean while it heals. Overall this is a really great shoe. Although the size is a bit heavy. I bought him a size 6. They're slightly wider on the hind legs, but he has larger front legs. What can you do about it? I think a size 5 might be too small for his front legs. It would be great if you could get them in packs of 2 for dogs that have larger front paws than back legs. But with both sets of velcro and shoe style, they stay in place. It's not that I really care what other people think, but we get a lot of compliments on how cool they look. Like high-top sneakers. Will buy again and again.
