Manufacturers use this foam to wrap dollar store merchandise. The foam is really thin. It doesn't keep its own shape. So thin it can take the shape of any microphone. Because the sleeves are folded and crumpled in a plastic bag, the red color has turned gray, the blue has turned yellow, etc. etc. I wouldn't want to use it on my mic. I can't even think of a reason to use it for recycling.
