I love this organic purple hair color. I applied it when mine was already dry after washing my hair. I did it this way to control the amount of purple that hits it and the amount of what I want to use. Since I'm growing out my gray I just want it to look subtle like a highlight and it worked well! I have a long history of allergies to chemicals, but this did not cause me an allergic reaction. The smell is light, after application the hair does not stick. To get it off your hands, simply wash with soap and water. That's great! I would like to buy another color but for now the other choice is red. I would wait until they turn blue! NOTE: I decided to return this because my hair got a bit dry after using it twice, but I used it gently as a highlight on my gray hair. for your information.
