Because there are so many variations of both, it is becoming increasingly difficult for bracket manufacturers to assemble every combination. I used pan head screws (three on each side) without seeing how flush mount screws could be used in this application. Because the mounts are plastic, there is a certain amount of flex when tightening the screws, but this doesn't cause any fitment issues. Screws do not need to be tightened; They're short, but they won't go anywhere - just neat will work just fine. I had a little trouble fitting the whole block into the factory cutout. Inside the dashboard are four screw holes and four alignment tabs. Leveling wasn't a problem; as if depth were an issue. Either there is some kind of obstruction caused by a difference in the metal and plastic mounts OR something specific to my rig is causing the hanging. There's a lot of I/O behind this head unit: six RCAs for audio, a power harness, an XM radio cable, steering wheel control module, Bluetooth mic, etc. so I'll go back and make sure I don't have a cable plugged in. He went in and all the screws were in place, so I don't suspect a real problem with the Scosche device. I will edit this review with my findings. When I put everything together, everything looked very good. I would give a 98% match bezel for MY main unit and a 95% match bezel for MY main unit. There are very slight gaps in the factory fairing on the sides - less than 1/16" - and no gaps in the head unit. There were no obstacles to opening/closing the front panel; no kinks and no snags. Pioneer has a feature that lets you tilt the screen to different angles from below, and it remembers your preferences.
