is a quality shirt, especially for the price, but I wouldn't consider thermal underwear. I'd say it's a bit thicker than the typical Nike Combat Pro Compression Shirt. That alone wouldn't be enough to keep you warm on a chilly/cold day outside. I would also say the quality and feel is not as good as the brands but very close to the price at 1/4. The problem is that it works very tightly/compressed. I'm 5'9", 182 lbs, 32" waist, medium build. Size XL was so skin tight it was uncomfortable and looked ridiculous on me. Also the neck opening was very wide and looked weird but it might just be my body type, wear a 16 inch collared shirt. I plan to try her fake neck in size XXL.
