Urgent, less than half an hour

Update February 2018: Installed by a family of three, this lock is used every day and never fails. I change the batteries every six months to be on the safe side, but the lock works perfectly in the cold, wet and heat. You can't go wrong with this. Original review, April 2017: Works great in any weather. Bought (for $53.99) as a Christmas gift for my landlord, you know how it goes, you never know if someone will like your gift or not. Based on the Signstek website I figured this lock would probably be the perfect replacement for the existing Schlage lock which had already failed once. A few weeks ago he said he doesn't have much time and could I install it? I wouldn't, and after spending a few days testing Signstek's Bejesus, which worked great, he jumped in. It really fits (picture attached) perfectly - in fact it fits a little better (tighter) than the Schlage lock. Very nice sound, solid mechanism and the programming was simple and very complete. Complete, in the sense that I could install it, give me an extra code, and then ask the landlord to do their thing and change the master code. He even checked the bypass code without telling me anything which totally confused me. But it's a well made product, tight tolerances, well engineered, excellent guidance (which isn't often the case), not expensive at all, and I think it's beautiful. As soon as I know if the batteries are working properly I will update this (if you don't see an update in six months, October 2017, that's fine). I tested the backup battery pack with no main batteries installed and it works fine too, and stored codes don't go away when the batteries die - I wasn't expecting this, but it's a good thing to check, you don't want to find out that something isn't working when you try to break into your home. The internal battery is a bit finicky and its covers don't fit very well, but if you only need to access it twice a year I can live with that. A nice touch is that you can set a user code, text, or call your visitor, and you don't even have to be home when they arrive. Are you expecting an installer you know and trust? No more keys under the carpet. That's luxury. And you can just delete the code when they leave. And give them the same code next time. Remember to keep a backup battery outside, you know why, glove box, greenhouse, neighbors, it can't pick the lock so you're safe. good show
