For Dark Hair - Light Hair Removal

Before you buy, you should know that IPL works best on dark hair with light to medium skin tones. This is because light is attracted to the pigment of dark hair. For the same reason, you can't use it on dark moles or freckles (the light can't concentrate enough). You want to start with bristles. So shave your legs and wait two or three days. Longer hair doesn't work because the light is diffused throughout the hair, not just the stubble. I've used it on the highest settings and it doesn't hurt. It looks like a light rubber band closure. I've done laser hair removal before, so this device just removes the stray hairs that my few rounds of laser missed. You need to use IPL for several months to get lasting results. This is because hair grows in cycles and you have to wait for that particular hair to have a root near the surface to show its full effect. If you want to use this on light hair, there's a trick. You can buy liquid IPL activated charcoal. This is a pigment that you apply to your skin with a cotton swab. It creates the appearance of dark pores on each hair follicle while leaving the skin light. The laser can then be aimed at the hair follicle as if the hair were dark (it's a mess, but it works). This device is well made and easy to use. I'll update the results if it stops working after a while. I love that it comes in a nice sturdy storage box. I hope this review was helpful for your purchases.
