Works with Nintendo Switch!

I didn't know what to expect from this product as I've never owned a pair of gaming headsets before but I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on them a pair of headphones that might or might not improve my experience. So let me break down the description given: - 7.1 surround sound - I've always thought of this as a gimmick rather than an actual feature, even on headphones that cost hundreds of dollars but don't have discrete speakers. The computer sees these headphones as stereo and not 7.1. No matter what program you're running, be it a Dolby Atmos trailer or a game, the output is still stereo. Although their program claims to try to simulate virtual surround sound, the source still needs to be a discrete 7.1 channel in order for their driver to process the signal to simulate surround sound. These headsets are not DTS-HD or Dolby ATMOS certified and therefore cannot process 7.1 channel raw data. This means that the video player still only plays stereo sound in the end. The end effect of turning on 7.1 virtual surround sound is that the soundtrack becomes "more atmospheric" or "broader" in sound, but you can't tell the sound is coming from your back left flank. Having never expected much from this feature, it didn't bother me that it wasn't true 7.1 USB true plug and play in Windows 10. I plugged these headphones in and Windows immediately started playing sound through them. No fuss no fuss. It just worked. You can install their driver, which includes the "virtual 7.1" feature, but it's very similar to installing drivers for any Realtek sound card. You only have access to a few additional DSP effects. Honestly, I don't like the extra processing on my audio signals. Being USB, this is a fully digital signal for your headphones right through to the speakers themselves. With 3.5mm headphones, the audio signal is analog through the 3.5mm connector, that's where it comes from only by the connection itself to some signal degradation. - Gaming headset with microphone - I don't play online games so I can. I can't tell you if the mic is better or worse than any other headset, but I can tell you that I've used the Spirit Wolf in some games and heard noises that I didn't hear on my Sennheiser headphones. - PC Gamers - BONUS! This headset is not only suitable for PC gaming, it also works with the Nintendo Switch via the USB port on the docking station. Even the volume buttons on the headset work! My overall experience with Spirit Wolf has been positive. The sound is crisp and clear, the highs are very good, but the bass could be better. I don't really like bass so it's not a big loss. Overall I still think the sound quality is very good. The headset is circular, meaning it wraps around your ears and the speakers don't sit directly against your head. This means the noise isolation isn't as good as in-ear headphones or even on-ear headphones (which fit snugly against the ear), but there's a reason professional gaming headphones are in this style. You can wear them for a long period of time without discomfort and get a wider sound. Overall I recommend this headset for its price and overall sound quality. Being able to use it with my Switch is just a bonus. EDIT: I have to revise my previous findings regarding virtual surround sound. I recently started playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider and went into the game's sound settings to test it. You could choose between stereo, 5.1, 7.1 and surround sound. If you read the description of Spatial Sound, it says it's meant to be used with Windows Spatial Sound (right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and you'll see an option to turn it on). Well, I tried Spatial Sound in three different ways: only with in-game Spatial Sound setting enabled, with in-game setting enabled + Windows Spatial Sound, and with in-game setting + XEar 7.1 driver. All three give slightly different sound effects, but I found the XEar effect to be the best. The sounds mimicked a wide area and I could identify the direction of each sound source. Very impressive.
